			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>A VBC resident found a 3-4 foot rattlesnake all coiled up in her garage. She called animal control. They said they haven&#8217;t gotten calls for rattlesnakes before in the neighborhood.</p>
<p>She said the snake was very lethargic, and she wanted to warn other neighbors, as she was surprised to see that in her garage, and wants everyone to be aware.</p>
<p><em>Editor&#8217;s Note: A rattlesnake appeared in our garage last August. I didn&#8217;t call Animal Control then because I killed it. I don&#8217;t recommend trying to do the same thing! </em></p>

The assessments for the first half of 2009 are now past due.  If you have not paid your assessment please make your checks payable to the Village of Berry Creek HOA and mail them to the address shown on your coupon.  Assessments are mandatory and non payment can cause a lien to be filed against your property.  These assessments are necessary for the upkeep of the facilities and the maintenance of the association.  If your assessments are not current you will not have access to the swimming pool. <p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>UPDATED CONTACT INFORMATION</strong></span><br />
Information update forms were included with the assessment invoices in January.  Please complete the form and forward it to Plateau in order for us to make sure that our records are complete.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>LAWN CARE &#8211; VILLAGES RESIDENTS</strong></span><br />
Please remember that lawns must be cut, edged and kept free of weeds.  Flowerbeds must be weeded as well.  If your property is not maintained you will receive a violation letter from the Association.  If this violation is not cured and your property brought into compliance within five (5) days of the letter, you will either be fined or the association will have your property maintained and you will be charged for this maintenance.   When you purchased your home in The Villages you agreed to adhere to the Covenants for the community which requires that your property be maintained on a regular basis.  If you are leasing your home to someone else you are still responsible for the maintenance. PLEASE DO YOUR PART TO KEEP THE VILLAGES BEAUTIFUL.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>OTHER RESTRICTIVE COVENANT AND COMMUNITY REMINDERS!</strong></span></p>
<p>•	TRASH AND RECYCLE CONTAINERS MUST BE STORED OUT OF VIEW (BEHIND YOUR FENCE OR IN YOUR GARAGE) EXCEPT ON TRASH COLLECTION DAY.</p>
<p>•	ALL IMPROVEMENTS must be submitted for approval to the Architectural Review Committee PRIOR to commencement of construction.</p>
<p>•	Boats, recreational vehicles and trailers must be stored out of public view.  Please park your vehicles (cars &amp; trucks) on your driveway or in your garage.  Vehicles parked on the street can create a sight problem with children darting in and out.  Please help to keep the Villages children safe!</p>
<p>•	Misc. Items such as Bar-B-Q grills, toys, bricks, etc. must be stored out of view, not on front porch or driveway.  (In garage or behind privacy fence).</p>
<p>•	Basketball goals must be stored off the street and sidewalks (public rights of way).</p>
<p>•	Dogs must be kept on a leash (when not on the property of the owner) and are not allowed to make an unreasonable amount of noise.  Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.   Please be a good neighbor and keep your animals (dogs &amp; cats) on YOUR property.</p>

<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Pool News</strong></span><br />
The community pool is opened as of May 16, 2009.  The Hours are Sunday – Saturday 7:00 am – 9:00 pm.  Hours subject to change without prior written notice. Please keep the pool safe and clean.  If you witness anyone in the pool during non pool hours, or anyone in the pool that does not belong there (jumping the fence to enter), please call the Police! Vandalism has been an issue in the past, everyone needs to work together to protect the community investment.  Repairs due to vandalism can also result in the pool being closed for safety reasons.  Just as you would not want your personal property damaged or violated, everyone needs to take necessary steps to keep this area safe for everyone in the community. All pool rules must be followed by residents and guests.  Failure to follow rules can result in having your tag deactivated.  Please do not open the gate for others. Plateau Property must have your closing documents before a tag can be processed. Maximum 2 tags per household.<br />
ALL DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS WILL RESULT IN TAG(S) BEING DEACTIVATED UNTIL THE ACCOUNT BECOMES CURRENT.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Pool Rules- 2009</strong></span><br />
In case of emergency call: 911 &#8211; Fire &#8211; Police – Ambulance.<br />
•	 Children under the age of seven (7) must be attended at all times by a parent/guardian.  The parent must be in the water within an arms reach of the child.<br />
•	 Children not toilet trained must wear swim diapers, and tight-fitting plastic pants to prevent leakage. Disposable diapers are not allowed in any pool at any time.<br />
•	 Tobacco, alcohol, drugs, firearms, or weapons of any type are not allowed within the Amenity Center. The exception to this rule is that alcohol may be permitted for officially sanctioned VBCHOA events, by approval of the Board of Directors.<br />
•	 Children Sixteen (16) and under must be accompanied by an adult, age 21 or over, when lifeguards are not on duty.  When lifeguards are on duty, an adult must accompany children under twelve.  If misbehavior becomes an issue the age requirement will be reevaluated.<br />
•	 No diving, somersaults, back dives, cannonballs or similar diving. No running or horseplay.<br />
•	 No glass containers allowed in the Amenities area, including pool area and playscape.<br />
•	 Proper swimwear is required at all times. No thongs or cut-off shorts. The use of life saving equipment is for emergencies only.<br />
•	 Air-inflated equipment limited to one-person capacity/use.<br />
•	 No pets, bicycles, skateboards, or roller blades within pool fence, or playscape area.<br />
•	 No eating or drinking in the pools or within 3 feet of the pools.<br />
•	 The use of radios, tape players, and/or musical instruments is limited to headphones only, except for Villages of Berry Creek HOA sanctioned parties/events.<br />
•	 All trash is to be placed in the proper trash containers.<br />
•	 Please keep gates closed at all times. Access must be by authorized holders of Key Tags and I.D. Badges.<br />
•	 POOL PARTIES MUST BE SCHEDULED WITH THE MANAGEMENT COMPANY.  No exclusive use of the pool for parties, except Villages of Berry Creek HOA parties.<br />
•	 An adult member must accompany all guests at all times.  Please limit guests to five (5) per family.<br />
•	 Pool Hours are 7:00AM-9:00PM<br />
•	  Improper conduct should be reported to the Property Manager at 441-1041 or 1-866-474-4272.  Infractions of these rules may result in the loss of pool privileges.  Emergency After Hours- 1-888-728-2215<br />
